Join me (Naomi!) for an hour of SwingTrain cardio! SwingTrain is a super-fun and effective dance cardio workout inspired by the buzzing, energetic tunes of Charleston, swing, gospel, electro swing and hot jazz!
Our SwingTrain workout is influenced by classic Swing dance moves (Swing is sort of an umbrella term that covers dances such as Lindy Hop and Charleston from 1920s-1940s) to create a vintage-infused cardio workout that will leave you smiling and sweating!
The class is structured in a series of routines set to top tunes, and comprise simple, easy-to-follow steps. I always break down the routines into their main parts before we start, and I provide low-impact/low-intensity variants to the high-impact steps. And don\’t worry, NO DANCE EXPERIENCE NEEDED!
We meet at The Dance Station, which is the perfect space for us! It has a sprung floor, full room-length mirror and barre, and there\’s a chill-out room and bathrooms (male + female) for you to take a moment or two before or after class.
Parking around the area is pretty much first-come-first-served, but Sundays are usually quiet. The Dance Station is located in Unit 4 in the industrial area of Portslade, and you\’ll see the black and pink signs. Buses run in the area, and if you\’re local then it might just be within walking distance.
