Francoise Chevalier - SwingTrain

Francoise Chevalier

Swingtrains at: Edinburgh

Sharing the joy of dancing to swing music is a very attractive mission to take on! I find the beautiful sounds of swing and blues the best to dance to. I have been a freestyling/social dancer since my teenage years at French rock’n’roll parties. In the few decades that followed, I practised volleyball and martial arts, and attended classes of solo exercise in its many forms (aerobics, step, pilates, solo jazz). Recognising that dancing is my true passion (following the magic of music!) I moved on to learning Lindy Hop, Balboa and Blues partner dancing over the last 15 years, whilst continuing to enjoy solo jazz/musical classes – all of those with a variety of wonderful teachers. This has never been my profession, so in taking on the new challenge of teaching, I hope to carry on spreading the joy for many years ahead, with people of all ages and abilities. Scientists have told us that dancing is one of the best thing for the brain and body in the long run, but also for happiness – the sheer fun of it! The friendly, simple but structured and very supportive approach taken in SwingTrain is ideal for this!
